Following vivo V60’s introduction in India, the phone launched internationally starting with the Malaysian, Taiwanese and Vietnamese markets. That second launch event was held in Malaysia and it kicked off the V Series Portrait Master Project. This project is described as “a global initiative that will bring together cutting-edge mobile imaging technology with the artistry of world-class portrait photographers”.
This is just the start – with every new V-series generation, vivo will introduce a new phase of the project and each will be headed by a different acclaimed photographer.
The inaugural phase has the theme “Snap into Your Vibe” and is a collaboration with American photographer Diane Villadsen. The goal is to highlight the vivo V60’s ability to capture genuine emotions while allowing its user to remain present in the moment.
Photos captured by Villadsen using the vivo V60: 85mm • 100mm
Villadsen is a fan of V60’s ZEISS Multifocal Portrait Mode, which offers (simulated) 85mm and 100mm focal lengths (the hardware is a 50MP camera with a 73mm lens with OIS).
“In my work, I want to let the moment shape the image. When shooting with V60, the ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera was one of my favorite features. Since I’m all about minimizing distraction, sometimes zooming in is the best way to get the right composition, especially shooting on location where there can be lots of clutter in the background,” said Villadsen.
In the future, vivo will partner with other photographers to highlight their unique style and the capabilities of new generations of V-series phones.
