Today, vivo has started the teaser campaign for the upcoming Y500, and if you’re confused, so are we. The Y400 4G got official last month, and the Y400 5G is barely two weeks old at this point. But the key to the mystery lies in the markets – the Y500 is launching in China, whereas the Y400 siblings are available in other countries.
And yes, we know what you’re thinking – vivo’s lineup is getting increasingly more confusing by the day, and unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about it. Anyway, back to the Y500 – it’s coming soon to China and is advertised to have a durable build.
No other details about it have been revealed yet, but undoubtedly those are coming in the next few days and weeks. In the meantime, we can take a look at its design, showcased in the teaser image above.
It seems to have borrowed heavily from the X200, X200 Pro, and X200 Ultra in terms of its camera island’s shape and positioning. That said, this will obviously be a mid-ranger, so the high-end looks are skin deep. We’ll let you know when we find out more about it.
