Last week, we exclusively reported that Ulefone would unveil the Armor Pad 5 Ultra tablet with a built-in projector at IFA, which begins tomorrow in Berlin, Germany. Now we’ve learned from a reliable source that RugOne – a new, premium rugged phone brand incubated by Ulefone – will also debut at IFA.
The name RugOne is a blend of “Rugged” and “Top One,” and we are told that RugOne will address the demand for durable, sustainable, and repairable outdoor technology. Moreover, RugOne will leverage Ulefone’s manufacturing expertise and supply chain and will be committed to creating high-quality, long-lasting products that minimize environmental impact.
RugOne’s slogan will be “To Be Bold,” which will reflect its philosophy and ambition to innovate and lead the outdoor communication sector. The Ulefone-supported brand will debut at IFA with the Xever 7 series, which will consist of two rugged smartphones – Xever 7 and Xever 7 Pro. We’ve received exclusive details about both, so let’s see what’s on offer.
The RugOne Xever 7 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 7025 SoC and have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage onboard, which will be expandable by up to 2TB via a microSD card. The smartphone will boot Android 15 and receive OS upgrades until Android 18.
The Xever 7 Pro will feature a 6.67″ 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display on the front with a 2,200-nit peak brightness. The display will have a punch hole in the center for the 32MP selfie camera using the GalaxyCore GC32E1 sensor.
Around the back will be two cameras – a 50MP primary (Samsung ISOCELL GN9, OIS) and a 64MP NightVision (OmniVision OV64B) unit. These will be accompanied by a thermal sensor from FLIR.
Fueling the Xever 7 Pro will be a 5,500 mAh battery that will charge through the USB-C port at up to 33W and via the pogo pin dock at up to 18W. It will also support 10W reverse wired charging.
The RugOne Xever 7 Pro will be advertised as a smartphone with a swappable battery, and its design will allow users to swap the batteries without powering down the device. That’s courtesy of a mini battery of 80 mAh capacity in the motherboard area. It will last for three minutes and a countdown timer will be displayed on the screen as a reminder.
The smartphone will come bundled with an extra battery, meaning you’ll get two 5,500 mAh cells. You’ll also get an additional battery cover with the package, and we’ve learned that RugOne will introduce some custom battery covers for the smartphone.
Another highlight of the RugOne Xever 7 Pro will be the eSIM support, which will vary by carrier and region. The rest of the RugOne Xever 7 Pro’s highlights include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a shortcut key located on the phone’s left frame, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a glare flashlight. It will also be IP68/IP69K-rated and have MIL-STD-810H certification.
The RugOne Xever 7 Pro will come in black, and there will also be a Camo Edition.
