Up until now Xiaomi’s flagship line comprised three devices – the vanilla, the Pro, and the Ultra, with the first two launching together in China in the fall, and the vanilla model getting its international launch in February alongside the Ultra.
Things will change this year, however. Xiaomi is now rumored to be preparing an extra device in the 16 lineup. Thus, we’ll get the vanilla option as usual, but it will launch in China next month alongside not one, but two Pro models. One of these will be smaller, with a 6.3″ screen, the other larger, with a 6.8″ panel. Today some details about the former have been leaked.

It’s said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 (as they all should, by the way). It will allegedly boast a 50 MP main camera with a 1/1.28-inch type sensor, a periscope telephoto camera, an ultrawide, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 6,300 mAh battery with support for wireless charging. Expect high dust and water resistance as well.
In the past, the Pro model didn’t get an international launch, and it’s unclear if this time around that will be true for both Pro sizes – we’re obviously hoping we’ll see at least this compact iteration outside of China.
