Sales of the Galaxy S25 series have been strong, getting ahead of the S24 series sales pace. The new Edge was off to a rough start, though. For a more detailed look at how the 2025 models performed compared to the 2024 models, Ice Universe has shared sales numbers for both, covering the period from launch to the end of June.

In total, all four Galaxy S25 models have sold a total of 20.22 million units in that period, compared to 18.02 million for the S24 models in the same time frame last year. That is an increase of 12.2%.

However, that includes 650,000 Galaxy S25 Edge units – note that this model only launched at the end of May, so this is really only a month of sales. For context, in the first two months of availability, the S25+ was at 1.67 million sales.

Subtracting the Edge, the S25 series has total sales of 19.56 million or an 8.5% increase over the S24 trio. Let’s have a look at how each model performed.

The small Galaxy S25 shows the biggest individual growth – up 11.6% over its predecessor. Rumor has it that Samsung wants to replace it with a more capable S26 Pro next year, which might drive sales up even higher.

The Samsung Galaxy S25+ posted a solid 7.5% increase over last year’s model, but it’s still the worst-selling Galaxy S model by a wide margin (it only sold two-thirds the numbers of the vanilla model). No wonder Samsung wants to drop the Plus for next year, especially as the S26 Edge is expected to improve on two fronts.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra remains the jewel in Samsung’s crown with a solid 7.1% increase over the already high sales numbers. However, fortunes have shifted a bit – it can no longer be said that the S25 Ultra outsells the S25 and S25+ models combined. It’s 9.64 million for the Ultra vs. 9.92 million for the other two.

Samsung has a major shake-up planned for the 2026 Galaxy S lineup. How that affects sales remains to be seen. It will depend on the Galaxy S26 Pro pricing (it replaces the vanilla S, but will it cost the same or more?) and how the S25 Edge sales continue after the first month (over time more discounts and promos will kick in).
