Redmi K80 Ultra is a highly anticipated flagship killer set to launch in China soon. While the device is yet to be formally announced, tech bloggers across China already have the device in hand, and some have posted their initial impressions and even full teardowns of the device.
Popular teardown experts WekiHome took apart the highly anticipated flagship killer, and we now have a clear picture of what to expect.
K80 Ultra features a fiberglass back with a frosted finish and a quad curved metal frame, and a metal camera island. The front features a 6.83-inch LTPS OLED (FHD+ 144Hz) with symmetrical bezels. The panel is manufactured by TCL and features Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection. Redmi K80 Ultra weighs 223.5 grams.
Once the back plate is removed, we can see the motherboard, as well as a massive thermal pad over the battery. Sadly, there is no wireless charging coil here.
The thermal pad extends to the top of the speaker assembly next to the dual cameras. It covers a combined area of 6,800 mm². The main section of the motherboard features additional thermal pads and copper foil.
The main camera module also has its own copper foil to help keep thermals in check. The teardown then shows the 1/1.55-inch 50MP main cam (OV Light Fusion 800), 8MP ultrawide (OV08F) and 20MP (OV20B) selfie cameras.

We are also shown the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, Micron LPDDR5X RAM and Samsung UFS 4.1 storage chips.
Redmi K80 Ultra also sports massive AAC 1115 coaxial stereo speakers and a X-axis linear vibration motor (CSA0916C).
The video then shows a quick glimpse at the 7,410mAh silicon-carbon battery which comes with Xiaomi’s Hyper G1 battery management chip.
