Polar is a well-known brand in the wearables market and it just announced its first passive wrist wearable. Polar Loop is a direct competitor to the Whoop band, but it ditches the additional subscription model while offering 24/7 health and activity tracking.
Polar Loop features a textile band which comes in three launch color options – Greige Sand, Night Black, and Brown Copper, with six additional options also available. That’s attached to a stainless-steel buckle which houses Polar’s Precision Prime sensor. The entire package is just 29 grams, making it light enough to wear 24/7.
The tracker records vitals like heart rate, activity, sleep, recovery, and training metrics. You get automatic tracking for steps, activity, and sleep and Polar claims up to 8 days of battery on a single charge. The best part is that there’s no additional subscription as everything syncs to the Polar Flow app for Android and iOS.
Polar Loop is priced at $199.90/€179.90/£149.50. Pre-orders are already live from Polar’s official website, while shipments are scheduled to begin on September 10.
