The Magic V5 is doing extremely well, sales-wise, for Honor in Europe, and one of the main selling points of this phone, aside from the fact that it folds and how thin it is, has to be its battery capacity.
Honor Magic V5
At 5,820 mAh, it’s much larger than a lot of non-folding phones’ cells today, especially from companies that aren’t Chinese, not to mention their foldables. If you’re wondering just how long that battery could last you, one answer apparently is ‘longer than it takes an elite speed reader to read the world’s longest novel’. There’s video proof, Honor filmed it:
Marcel Proust’s Remembrance of Things Past is apparently that novel, the world’s longest, and it took an elite speed reader – Jordan Harry – 30.5 hours to go through all of its 4,300 pages on the Honor Magic V5, without the phone needing charging. In fact, the phone still had 10% battery capacity left when the speed reader finished the 1.2 million-word book.
Adam Cao, President of Honor Western Europe, said:
We set out to prove that battery anxiety doesn’t have to be part of the smartphone experience. The results speak for themselves. A single charge that outlasted what would have required multiple recharges on other foldables. What the Honor Magic V5 offers is freedom from interruption, allowing users to immerse themselves in any activity without a second thought about battery life. Be that reading the world’s longest novel, running a marathon or simply watching their favorite show without losing charge.
Jordan Harry said:
Reading 4,300 pages in under 40 hours, on a single charge, is an incredible achievement that I’m extremely proud of. The Magic V5’s incredible battery life, lightweight design and stunning screen not only helped to make this possible, but also enjoyable, allowing me to stay fully immersed in the text without having to worry about power.
