While we are preparing the full Honor 400 review, we decided to share the results from our battery and charging tests.
The handset runs on a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC and features a 6.55-inch OLED panel. Both draw power from either a 5,300 mAh battery or a 6,000 mAh unit, depending on your region. The unit we got is the European one, which means 5,300 mAh.
The results from the battery tests are far from ideal. The handset drags behind the competition with a 12:29h Active Use Score. That’s considerably below what most phones score in the same price bracket.
The Honor 400 seems to be struggling in all screen-on tests, especially in the web and video streaming scenarios.
When it comes to charging, though, the Honor 400’s 66W charging rate seems to be competitive enough. The handset charges from 0 to 100% in just over 40 minutes, while a 30-minute charge gives you 80% of the charge back. That’s better than some, but also slightly behind other devices in the same price bracket. Still, the differences are rather negligible.
