Apple is rumored to finally launch its first folding iPhone late next year, and today a new analyst report claims the company is very optimistic about its success.
Apple is said to have raised its iPhone Fold shipment forecast to 8-10 million units in 2026 and 20-25 million in 2027. This is compared to previous estimates of 6-8 million and 10-15 million, respectively. Needless to say, that’s a very significant increase.
In 2028, Apple is rumored to also bring a foldable iPad to the market, and for this device, its shipment estimate right now sits at 0.5-1 million units in 2028. Clearly then, it views the foldable iPad as more of a niche device, while the iPhone Fold should have much more mass-market appeal.
Apple’s Vision Air headset is allegedly coming in 2027 to address people’s main issues with the Vision Pro: weight and price. The new headset will be 40% lighter and less than half the price of the Pro. Vision Air shipments are now estimated to reach 1 million units in 2027. This compares very favorably to the Vision Pro, which since launch has only managed about 400,000.
