Tecno has announced HiOS 15, the company’s next generation Android-based operating system for its mobile devices. The new update comes with updated UI, improved performance and efficiency, as well as a raft of AI features.
Starting with the UI, HiOS 15 comes with a cleaner interface with 40% fewer pre-installed apps. There are new animations and transitions, with AI-generated wallpapers and new minimal icons. The app transitions are also 15% quicker to make the UI feel snappier.
The OS comes with features such as MemFusion 3.0 and memory defragmentation to improve memory performance and more efficient use of storage. Sensory Scheduling 2.0 also improves multitasking performance in up to 25 apps at once along with a Blank Data mode to shield information from apps.
Performance enhancement features
The company has also included a wireless mic mode, which can turn the phone into a wireless microphone when paired with a speaker.
There are also several new AI features, such as AI Call Assistant for real-time translations, transcriptions, and summaries of calls, including those from WhatsApp, AI Auto Answer for automatically answering calls and generating summaries while you’re away, AI Voiceprint Noise Suppression for background noise removal, AI Screen Awareness to provide context to on-screen content, and finally AI Writing & Document Assistant.
AI features
Other AI features include AI Eraser 2.0 & Image Extender, AI Wallpaper Generator, AI Sharpness Plus, and AI Blurring for blurring sensitive information in screenshots.
Tecno has also pledged commitment to the Indian market by tailoring certain features for the Indian users. It works with Indian fundamental models such as Sarvam AI for better handling of local languages. The company’s Ella AI supports Hindi and will soon support other Indian languages, including Bengali, Tamil, Gujarati, and Marathi through updates before the end of this year.
